Trips in Scotland I can recommend

Here you will find a short summary of trips I can really recommend. I will order them in different categories depending on what topic you are interested in: Museum, landscape, cities

Museum

Outside the British Museum in London, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow is the most visited museum in the United Kingdom. I really like to visit it because of the variety of exhibits. Thus it caters for all tastes. You should try it, not only because the entry is free but you will be surprised of how interesting a museum can be.

As it happens that you do not like it you can change your route and visit the botanic garden in Glasgow, which is only 15 minutes walk from the museum.

Landscape

For me, the most impressive things about Scotland are its landscapes. Especially in the North but also at some eastern parts and some islands you can see some unique places with glorious panoramic views. Here are some examples:

Dunnottar Castle

Loch Ness

Loch Lomond

In conclusion, if you want to see a beautiful landscape, a trip to the highlands is definitely worth it. Also because even on the way to the highlands you can see several beautiful places.

Isle of Skye

Cities

Edinburgh

In my opinion, Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in Scotland. Although it is very touristic there are many beautiful buildings. Even walking around in the city gives you a good impression of buildings in a rustic-style. You can find detailed information and more pictures in the post Trip to Edinburgh.

Falkirk

Falkirk is known for its rotating boat lift. But you can also have a beautiful view on the city while walking around.

Paisley

Paisley may not be the most beautiful city on earth, anyway it has some really beautiful areas. Especially if you are interested in churches you should visit Paisley.
